Fraudsquad is tasked with keeping fraud rates low and auth rates high while also mitigating chargebacks for our merchant of record businesses (WordPress.com, Jetpack, Akismet, and more). The area of our work experiencing the most growth involves our payments services (WooPayments), where we focus on onboarding and monitoring merchants, and keeping an eye on fraud across the portfolio. 

Payments fraud is an ever-changing field, and maintaining a current understanding of how fraud works is an important aspect of being effective at preventing it.
